fine i shall break the silence. lol. :)

wasn't worship tonight good? i sure enjoyed it. haha. glad we're all back on stage again. i think that break did us some good. please correct me if i speak for myself only. hahaha. but im quite impressed ok. considering that we didn't play as a group for a month. today's practice and worship felt like we never had that break at all. in fact it felt as if we'd been practising very hard. hahaha. well God is great and He makes all things to work for His glory! :)

and maj's message about David and Goliath was good too. remember ah people.

We've got a pretty busy schedule ahead of us all.

Corps Anniversary! 22nd, 23rd, 24th August. 3 days of celebrations!!!

then we have the amazing race on the 1st of Sept that ben has very enthusiastically been planning.

after that on the 2nd and 3rd of Sept is the children's day camp (held at our sports hall) aunty gina needs as much help as she can. so please please let any of the youth leaders know if you are available and interested to help. :)

finally we have the gracehaven carnival on the 6th of Sept! come and check it out ok. plus our worship team is gonna be playing and we'll even have a dedication booth where you can make dedications and stuff. come support us too!!! :)

see. busy right? so start finishing all the backdated school work and projects and whatever else that might cause you to be unavailable. you won't want to miss out on these activities. it's gonna be so much fun! :)

ok til here for now cos i still have stuff to do for sunday school. :)

does anyone read this blog anymore? our updates are so sparse and far apart. we really should contribute more to OUR website. lol. :)

anyways, i wanted to blog about something! i've been making a master copy of the powerpoints for the worship songs and well i've realised the songs are really different without the majestics of the music and all. the true meaning of the songs really stand out. when you're just staring at the words, they tend to really speak out LOUDER to you.

maybe we should read through our songs before we practice them. perhaps the words we sing and the music we play will be more meaningful both to us and our other youth members. or have you all been doing that already and i'm just slow? lol.

anywhoo, was talking to ben and telling him how cool his polaroid is. you know what. we should like contribute to buy one roll of film for it and then take pics of the worship team. then we FINALLY can have a picture together (and we can put it up here!) plus it'd be a pretty cool one! how? :)

ok that's all i have tonight. :)

yes as the title suggests, this is gonna be a really random post! ha! i noticed our blog doesn't have pictures! so there'll def be some in this post!

today's worship was great! worship team you guys did a great job. i on the other hand kept screwing up. i forgot your solol ben! i'm so sorry!!! don't hate me k. i really didn't mean it. lol.

oh and in case you didn't notice. our darling vonita, founder of the vonitis sickness has flown off to england. i miss her already! i bet you do too la. come on admit it! :)

ok we can stay over in church on the eve of easter after youth worship as we'll be havin sun rise service so tat we dont need to wake up super early..but we need to give the figure of how many are stayin over..so pls if anyone is interested you all can tell the youth leaders so tat we can give the number to major when we have the cell group on thursday i think..or tis saturday after worship or before worship..so if anyone is interested pls tell the leaders..so tat we can appeal before the date comes near..

Love one another as Jesus loves you. let Christ shine in you.
** i must say thanks to all the youth who helped clean up the fellowship hall.. sorry i wasn't there to help. sincere apologies. I SEE THE LOVE!!!!

Humility

Do something for someone in church not of your interests but theirs
e.g. "uncle raymond, can i help the sunday school kids..."
that would be great!

Remember that down is up!!! Jesus' way....
He became a servant and was treated terribly and He loved the people who killed Him and stoned Him. What little is it for us members of the church, Christians to love one another......

I have one last challenge for you guys....
and that is to forgive each other.... the Lord's prayer: "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us"

If you are angry with someone, i pray that Jesus will take that anger from your heart, and forgive you and you forgive that person who made you angry.

I sincerely pray that our youth group will grow in Christ and burn for Him.... i pray that we resolve all these issues and work together one body, one soul, one mind! We do all this for His kingdom and we rely on His strength.... In Jesus name i pray, Amen

Guys if we don't do this, no one will. WE ARE THE YOUTH!! so i hope you guys take your monkey butts together and be loving to each other, encourage each other and have humility......

i challenge myself too... i know this is not easy but then you see right, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVE US STRENGTH!
So yeah, when you have troubles, give them to Him who can resolve anything. If He can make a dead man rise, what else can He not do.... HELLO! He created the WORLD!!! what's your little problem compared to that. Remember! lean on Him. i'm praying hard for myself and i encourage everyone to pray for each other. I'm praying for all of you. and i mean all including those that are not leaders. :)

hello everyone! this blog's been un-updated for like a week now. so i thought i'd update since our friendship day party was such a success!!! :)

yes yes. i honestly think it was.

no. 1 because the gh youth were telling me how much they wanted to come back again and how they loved the atmosphere. and other's have probably said the same to you other youth leaders. :)

no. 2 because i know you feel the Holy Spirit surging through you right now too!

no. 3 because satan is already attacking us. if God wasn't there last night and working His miracles, satan wouldn't be so worried. :)

so hang in there everyone. keep praying without ceasing. our God is stronger than satan, we just need to keep reminding the devil of his future. :)

also, remember that we have just started this great new adventure with God and our youths. this is just the beginning. we have a great long journey ahead of us. so keep holding on to God and don't think that just because we finished the friendship day party, the rest of the journey is going to be easy. cos as you can tell, satan has already started trying to foil our plans. so be on gaurd, and depend on God! not ourselves. first line of our pledge.

speaking of which, i don't know if it's confirmed yet but from one of the meetings we had, i remember maj. saying that we were going to sign the pledge when she comes back. i think that's next sunday. so once again beautiful youth leaders of wbc, please pray about the commitments and promises we are about to make with God. and please, if you honestly don't feel as if you are ready, then please approach either aunty janis or maj. pascoe and let them know. we don't want to be promising to keep something that we can't right? i hope none of us feel that way though. we are all in this together (ok, that's so HSM!) and we all need each other.

keep praying for major too. i don't know when she's coming back, but i think we all agree we miss her!!!

and major, if you're reading this, thanks so much for your prayers! we love you! and we can't wait to share with you what happened last night! :)

thanks aunty jan for being there and supporting us too. :)

so til here for now, cos im starting to sound very long winded.

no one's been blogging much. i guess you're all busy with the ney year(xin nian)... quite a big occassion for chinese people xin nian kuai le! wan shi ru yi!.. :)

oh yeah! forgot... to all of you!
just as it is new years eve when all you people have your reunion dinners, it is also the first day of lent.... technically it's the 2nd already coz it's past mid night.

but just wanna remind you all to read your bible.... the chapter of John... and also your mettle. and if you have the "Dying and rising with Christ",do read it too.... todays one is about not showing to people the good things you have done but to do it in secret so the heavenly father sees it... so yeah read your bible pray everyday and you grow grow grow.... :)

hello all! first of all i am very happy to announce that our proposal to move youth worship to sat evenings has been APPROVED! yay! the corps council has decided that it is a good idea and fully supports us! double yay! :)

we also discussed other issues regarding the youth, here is a brief summary. :)

first of all it was brought up that perhaps we could open up our worship team to more participation from the youth at GH. that way they may be more encouraged to come for youth worship and even feel more part of the group.

we suggested we start "jam sessions" maybe once a month at GH or something. we can discuss this more on thurs next week at cell yeah.

we also asked if the youth from GH can be allowed to stay and participate in the afternoon sports we have on sundays after service and all, and Lt. Raymond a.k.a my dad says he'll see if something can be arranged because transport is needed to bring the youth back to GH.

Maj announced that the area/room/partition next to the cry room is now officially our youth den!!! yay!!! so if there are youths who don't exactly want to sit through the whole meeting in chairs, they can sit and chill in the youth den and be in a more relaxed environment but still be able to listen to the message! von and i are gonna think of how we can make the place more homey and comfy for everyone. BUT PLEASE! KEEP IT CLEAN! anyone who has nice cushions or pillows or chairs or whatever and wants to donate it for the use of our youth, please feel free to! :)

and finally, the sunday school department needs help! youths (especially youth leaders) who are interested and feel a calling to help out in sunday school ministries please feel free to approach our YPSM a.k.a my dad (again) lol.

again we will talk about these issues next thursday, but don't forget to continuously be praying for each other and these issues as well. :)

we're all one big family after all, so it'd be nice if we helped each other out as much as we can! but remembe these are responsibilites that require commitment! so pray first ok! :)

ok this is a really long post and you're prolly bored out of your brains. lol. so til here for now! :)

coffee+comfy seats to sit on+friends+God centered convos=good! VERY GOOD!

im glad i got to sit and talk to kenny and gopal and ben last night after the planning and cell and all. like kenny said, updating each other on what's going on in our lives is essential in our relationships with each other. especially if we want to work together as youth leaders.

so i highly recommend that we are all present at each cell group. i know sometimes exams and school work come in the way, but other than that (unless it's a total emergency) please come for cell! :)

and remember, keep praying for each other! :)

anyways, can't wait for tomorrow! see you guys! :)

hello all. i know i said i'd blog last night but i just died after doing my work. heh.

im hogging one (ok 3...cos i'm with two other friends) of the coms in the school library cos my next class is at 5pm and i have absolutely nothing to do. :)

eh xiao hua. i have to agree. worship prac was real good today. heh. i hope we, okok I, don't screw up tomorrow. pray my voice doesn't decide to die tonight ok. i must confess i just had a slice of chocolate cake. :s heh. i promise i will only consume water after this post. :)

but yeah. thank God i managed to make it through. i really wasn't kidding when i said my head was gonna burst. cos it really hurt. heh. but i prayed before we started worship prac and asked God to at least take it away for the duration of practice. and He took it away can!? heh. but it came back la. like on the way home. but its not as bad as it was this morning and afternoon. so praise God. :)

im looking forward to tomorrow. :)

Subject: Readjustments Concerning Youth Worship

Thank you for meeting with us last Sunday on the 20th of January 2008. We fully appreciate your constant support for the youth.

Here are our reasons as to why we would like to change the time for youth worship.

Timing of Youth Worship is Not Ideal

The youth leaders feel that having youth worship at 9am in the morning on Sundays is not a very attractive time slot for friends who do not or have not attended church before, since most of our friends do not live near the vicinity of our church.

We would like to suggest that we move youth worship to Saturday evenings at 7pm. That way, we can bring our friends from school or meet them elsewhere and bring them to church. Also, having youth worship at this new time slot will eliminate the time constraints that we have on Sunday mornings.

Financially Beneficial

The corps has been planning to buy a set of brand new instruments for the fellowship hall, where the youth have youth worship. However, this will no longer be necessary since we will be using the chapel for our youth services.

We would like to suggest that perhaps the money planned for the new instruments could be used to buy an affordable distortion pad for the electric guitar.

Fellowship Hall is Not Very Conducive

We usually have Youth Worship in the small fellowship hall. However, we feel that it is not very acoustically appropriate as a lot of the youth think that the music is too overpowering.

By having the Youth Worship in the chapel, the music will not be too loud and will not scare visitors away. Plus, we have more space to work with in the chapel.

A bonus point about having the youth worship in the chapel would be the ambience. A lot of us feel that the low lighting will encourage the youth to be more expressive and not as self-conscious as they are when in the fellowship hall.

We hope you take these suggestions into serious consideration and we thank you for your time. God bless you.

and yes, once we have all things setup, i was thinking of setting up a study group for sundays... either after sports or before.

it's another way to bring us together. :)

or praise and worship, then the pic of 3 of us.. then say like if got any song request.. look for us and all.. like this like more organised... and allow other youths to be part of the planning as well..
